Ok so i got my P bass wired up and everything with 1 vol 1 tone but the volume pot works backwards.. Twist it clockwise and it turns the volume level down. Anyone know how to fix this? Do i just need to switch the wires on the pot with each other?

Thanks

Interesting point. I have been thinking about this as I am replacing my Mini Alphas with CTS. How do you know, which of the outside two is the right one?

The one on the left is '0' and the one on the right is '10'. I believe so, if I'm doing it right...

EDIT: just ignore me and read that post below.

Rear view of pot:
O
1 2 3

1 - the end the wiper approaches when the knob is turned clockwise (viewed from the front)
2 - connects to the wiper.
3 - the end the wiper approaches when the knob is turned anti-clockwise (viewed from the front)

1 is hot
3 is ground.

Alternate view to make John's description work.

How would the pot be orientated to decide which is left and which is right?

Mind you, I suppose I could just bung a meter on there really.

Yes, Orientation is key when using left and right to describe positions on a circle. You must also include "up" or "down" as the frame of reference.
