I play metal etc I've narrowed the 333XL vs the peavey vypyr 75w

I'm still only playing in my bedroom (will join a band to jam with later down the track in a year or two)

Would a 333XL be way to loud?

Would it be better to get a 75w vypyr?

I also would like to gig, that's why i'm kinda leaning towards the 333XL

Oh and i mean the 333XL 2x12 Combo

for home use, i'd play the 333xl in the basement. [actually, i do >__>]

but yeah, master barely at one shakes my whole house. its a good amp, and ideal for gigging, haven't tried but i'm gonna see if i can do a show without mic'ing it up.

edit: okay maybe i'm exaggerating a bit, but, it can handle a low volume when it's really meant to be cranked. I bought an overdrive to help boost it when i play at home, doesn't do too bad on the tone as well. lead channels just screeeam

I'd say go for the 333XL, but wait a few months since you don't really need it soon, and see if reliability gets any better.

for home its way too loud

No it isn't, those amps can get very quiet between the master volume, channel volume and FX loop volume cuts.

The 333XL would be stupid loud, but absolutely useable at bedroom levels.
The Vypyr get retarted loud FAST tho. I had the 75 and it was ALMOST too loud for even a bedroom. It went from really quiet to ridiculous, too fast IMHO.
If you're going to get a Vypyr, play the 75 SS and the 60 tube side by side and see which one you like best. Both sound good, it's a harder choice than you might think.

There's a neat little invention on every called amp a volume knob people.

You can play it at low volumes, it would sound better at higher volumes but still good at low.
