Hey guys, just wondering, what's the best way to work speed up for playing fast Deathcore style chugs. I know I need to alternate pick it, but I'm having problems getting that to sound clean along with the palm mute.

I'm also have problems with chord alt picking when you go like "chug chug chord", the chord sounds really muddy and it's just not good.

Last but not least I think my right hand positioning is just wrong, in terms of how I hold the pick and palm muting, any tips?

keep playing

learn songs slower than the originals, to get the technique down

you have to play it your way, how you feel comfortable, first and foremost

the rest you will pick up

Just gotta practice slow and build up.

Post some pics of your pick hand if you can so we can see how you are holding it.

When your playing, practice down picked chugs instead of Alternate picked. Check out Master of Puppets. All down strokes

That's what I do for the moment, but there's only so fast I can down pick chug.
