I know the original and early JCM 800 2203's are better than the newer line...

BUT

would a newer one be worth say $800?

Are you selling? Or buying it?

Because if you are buying it, don't bother and find something else. If you are selling it, you could get $1500 for it.

According to who???

Original models are only selling in the 1000-1200 range last I checked. $800 is a decent deal, that's how much a new one is at my GC though

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

Where did you get your info because you're sorely mistaken. You'd be lucky if you got $1500 for an original JCM800.
