I read something on CL today saying a 1960a with G12s ran about $350 at GC, for a trade in value. So the used value is probably around $400-$450.

dpeend of the type of cab .

at 140 watt i believe the cab is a valvestate cab model 8412 ( its smaller than a 1960a or other cab ) . weight less than the regular size cab . these cab were built to fit the valvestate 8100 head ( of the 90s ) . Its not an angle cabinet .

the celestions are g12l-35 which is a small magnet speaker . its not a g12t -75 or V30 . its a lot cheaper . but the g12l-35 is very british sounding and great at low volume ( for practice , recording ) but will loss his headroom in a medium venue . So its not a bad cabinet ... the g122l-35 have been said to be an underrated speakers .

these speakers open ur early so they let you crank your tube head more . thats why theyre sweet at low volume .

you can get a whole set of g12l-35 for around 130 $ used ( for the 4 ) .. so add i.e 40-50 for the cabinet ..

i think it would be fair to pay around 175 $ u.s . Maybe 200 at max .

i paid 190$ canadian for my 8412 .

and yeah these cab are made in england ... they have nothing in common with the new MG cab . but its not a full size 1960B or JCM cab .

its a 3/4 size lightweight cabinet . rated at 8 ohm .

its still a good cab .. depending of what your doing with it . great for hard rock but doesnt have a tight punch for metal stuff .

( im assuming thats the kind of cab were talking about here ) Model 8412 .

bottom line : these little cab were built for the valvestate ehad .. but turned up to be wonderful for british vintage sound through small tube amp like tiny terror etc..
theres probably gonna get mor eand mre in demands in the next few years . theres conveniient and cheap and good sounding for home /practice , small club
