I am probably going to get an Epiphone Les Paul '56 Goldtop, but if anyone can come up with a better guitar under $500, that would be awesome.

Apparently they're very good guitars for Epiphone. But I agree with al112987 cause they are single coils so if you're expecting the traditional LP sound you wont get the depth of it.

Ive played the '56 and its a solid guitar. I liked everything about it. feels good, nice weight, it even sounded good through his frontman!!.... Well, yea.. BUY IT!
