Hokayy so I'm thinkin I'm gonna get a fender standard mim sss strat for my bday, so I figure why not upgrade my amp? Well I've listened to the superchamp xd, and I love it's cleans, godly at times. But I need some oomph, some distortion. So what's a good cheap distortion pedal for anything but metal. I like classic and modern rock and I have a thing for the blues. Also I would like a wah, and would like to spend like max 100ish, I know it's cheap, but I'm not playig gigs. I appreciate any contributions

Well you prolly don't want a distortion pedal... what exact bands you play... maybe a boss DS-1... or a some sort of OD pedal...The overdrive pedal or the DS-1 would be good for blues

Well I like a nice good crunch. I play acdc. Led Zeppelin. I know led Zeppelin is a wide variety, but I play alot of music, just no metal

Meh @ Boss. Try an MXR Distortion II, III, or +.

And I agree w/ MetalGuitarist, you probably want an overdrive pedal instead of a distortion pedal.

Probably 70-80. That's what they are online in most stores.

Overdrive is meant to emulate the sound made when valves are pushed too hard; it's a natural distortion. You can use a standard distortion pedal the same way but the effect is more severe as distortion pedals cause signal distortion instead of just raising the signal level to natural clipping levels like an OD pedal. Basically, OD doesn't color your tone as much, but creates a kinda different sound. You'll hear the difference if you play some. OD is better for your genres, too.
