Thanks for the comments guys

I guess I should do a quick review.

Cleans = 9/10 , so warm with so much character to them.

Overdrive = Haven't been able to get a great overdrive tone out of it by itself but through the use of the Fulltone OCD it sounds great.

Lead= Sounds amazing! Needs to be at least 1.5/10 to sound good though which is very loud whereas my Laney VC50 sounds great with the lead channel at lower volumes.

Just need a strat now

tbh, i hate that amp with a passion, but it does look GREAT! I hope you can coax out tones that you like, as i really couldn't mesh with it...

Have you heard the clean and the lead channel?

The only problem I'm having is dialing in a decent overdrive.

When I played one I wasn't quite able to get everything I wanted, but I feel that the amp def has potential. Which is why I encourage you to work on it!!

What tubes do those ship with anyway? And yes, a strat with that thing would be awesome (I think).

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

With regards to the amp, I'm still getting used to it. It always takes me a while to get the tone of my previous amp out of my head and get used to the new one.

Here are my thoughts so far, which I'm sure will change in time.

Pros
Warm, beautiful cleans.
Looks aesthetically stunning
Great lead channel
Lot's of low end
Simplistic design
Reverb
Nice and punchy
Handles drop tunings with a breeze
EQ knobs are very sensitive, dropping the mids turns this amp into real metal territory.

Cons (hopefully these are predominantly my fault)
-Lead channel could be a tiny bit tighter for my liking.
-Would never use the reverb passed 2
-Bit shocking that you don't get a footswitch with a £1k+ amp

All in all I'm very satisfied, as much as I'd like a tighter tone for shred I have to live up to the fact that NO amp in the world can cover all genres. This amp does shred very well.....just not as tight as an ENGL for example. Then again, this amp has pure tone, can't same the same for the ENGL's I've tried..

I posted this on the orange forums, though some of you might be interested.

So I got home today and did some equing....

Wow

I've noticed that in order to get a good overdrive/indie tone the treble needs to be on 7+ otherwise it sounds way too warm.

Now that I've done that it sounds fantastic!

Here are the settings I've been using for clean/overdrive/lead

Clean

Treble 7
Bass 6
Reverb 2
Volume 5

I find this lets the notes ring out whilst the bass maintains the warm smooth clean tone

Overdrive

Gain 5.5
Treble 7
Mids 2 (I know this seems insanely low but it seems treble cuts through on this amp more than the mids)
Bass 5
Reverb 2
Volume 4

I've also set up my fulltone ocd as an overdrive for songs that involve rock with a high gain solo so I have three channels. The sound is very similar to the orange natural overdrive tbh.

Lead

Gain 8
Treble 5
Mids 7
Bass 7
Reverb 1
Volume 2

Drop D

Gain 10
Treble 7
Mids 1
Bass 8
Volume 2

If i could compare the high gain tone of this amp to one band it would be muse. Honestly, use the lead settings above and play something like plug in baby/showbiz

I'm so much happier now I've had time to eq it properly, I think the problem I was having was not having the treble up high enough.

Would love to hear some opinions on my settings.
