in my recordings?
I've got some pretty cluttered bits and i was wondering if using 2 guitars would help it easier to distinguish between the 2 separate parts?

NOTE: both guitars are playing through the same amp however one is a semi-hollow

You could try changing your settings for the different tracks. Or you could pan them to opposite sides.

Yea, try different amp settings, or even different amps if you can. Most pros record with up to 4 amps per track. Ofcourse if you're recording metal or whatever make sure you turn the gain down.

same settings
same mic position

record the track through twice
pan hard left and hard right
proceed to be like "**** YEAH"
