I did some looking and only could find a thread about Assjack (his punk band) but nothing about his hellbilly music. for those who haven't heard of him heres an amazing song slamming every bit of bull you see on CMT.

I grew up country and love going to town on the acoustic in front of the campfire or in my local bar on friday nights

"And there's Jimmy Page, the biggest thief of American Blues music"

He's one of my favorite musicians and one of the most important musicians as far as influencing the direction I've taken as a musician and as a fan

Hiram was by far the better songwriter AND singer.

Listen to the Lovesick, Broke, and Driftin' album. You'll then hear the vast potential III has.

Hank III is the man for real
I tried to make a signature listing all my gear, but I couldn't for 2 reasons.

1. I couldn't remember all my gear
2. My signature was too long for UG to process.

I think Jr. and III are both good in their own way. I like how Jr. brings rock and big band into his music. It's very fun sounding. III is awesome. I love Assjack

This and johnny cash are the only country I can stand. I hate the pop-country crap like "shes thinks my tractors sexy", its so dumb.

III is alright as far as it goes, but let's be honest with ourselves here, his popularity rests on the name he inherited combined with his willingness to curse and make drug references. There are a lot of performers that do a better job of the whole trad country/honkey tonk genre than Hank III.

agree with waylon jennings. also hetfield's cover was the best thing since sliced bread.

Just saw 3 last night and it was the best show I've ever seen anyone who say's hes only famous cause of his name better watch him live before they say shit. He had the most polished country music I have ever heard live and considering they play some wild shit thats a compliment. Not to mention after and hour and a half of country music they went on for another hour and half playing killer metal! He still came down to sign autographs to.
Ill go to hank 3 any time he ever comes near me again.
