It's not very accurate because it only relies on two things: weight and height. It doesn't take into account anything else, like muscles weighing more than fat.

gotta agree on BMI being pile of wank. That's why it's always saying that pro athletes with like 2 percent body fat are obese.

Actually, it's an alright method of working out whether you're fat. But tbh, I just go by the old - "Do I have tits?" If the answer is yes. Time to hit the gym.

BMI is ****, and it annoys me how many people use it.

As has been said people who are in good shape and have more muscle than fat can look bad with the BMI ergo it's bull****.

As has been said those body composition tests are better, the ones that tell you the fat percentage of your body.

If you are overweight according to the BMI you will be able to tell with the naked eye whether you need to get in shape or not.
