So for those who don't know, there's this microblogging site called tumblr and among other things, you can upload one MP3 (which is less than 10 MB) every day.

And that's pretty awesome for just showing off one song a day...it could be a song you've loved for a really long time or some gem you've just discovered or the song you're currently obsessed with...whatever.

I think it would be pretty sweet if we had a community like that; we'd all just follow each other's "tuneblrs" and get exposed to lots of different music.

Anyway, to maintain some sense of consistency:

1) Please don't post any other content than just that one song of the day (so if you already have a tumblr, just make a new one; it's mad easy).

2) In each track, include some indication of what kind of music you've posted and a description of the song to give us an idea of what we're getting ourselves into.

After following other fellow UGers tuneblrs, you can simply go to the tumblr dashboard to peruse everyone's posts.

So yeah, go make a tuneblr over at tumblr and join in the fun.

Um...no offense, but, you know Blip.fm does the same thing, right? Cept you can post as many songs as you like, follow whomever you like, and you start off already following 30 people with somewhat similar interests.

Que?

Yeah George, I am.

And I think I'd prefer tumblr to Blip.fm. If I used Blip I'd spill my load the first week and then forget about it and never upload anything anymore. With tumblr I'd have to choose between tracks and maybe think "I'll just upload it tomorrow". By my logic tumblr sounds like it could have a longer life-span.

Never mind. I like Tumblr, and we've already got a community going. I think uploading one track per day is better, cus then everyone's gonna listen to every track and you're not bombarded with 30 tracks at once; you won't listen to all of them. I wouldn't want to listen to people's stuff with similar interests anyway; this is a good way of discovering new stuff.

I personally like the duality of having the freedom of uploading absolutely anything you might have (and might not be able to find elsewhere) and also being limited to just choosing a single song per day.

but i really appreciate the suggestion.

I see your points =P Gimme a second, I'll make another Tumblr page (I've got a personal one and a band one) Can't guarantee I'll post every day though

Me too I reckon George will have the highest (obviously not because of the quality of the music...)

Can we upload videos of music, too? Just to keep things fresh >_>

Do the tracks have to specifically be in MP3 format to be able to upload?

Yes. So, I guess, if you really wanna show people something not in mp3 format, convert it.

I'm going with dark jazz and hip-hop for the next few days. Then I might post some folky track that you'll probably like. I don't know what people's views of sort of psychedelic ambient trance are, but I'll give that a go too.
#30
Dark jazz? Sounds interesting. Looking forward to the folky song then. And psychedelic ambient trance sounds quite appealing actually. I uploaded za new song.

Excellent! I look forward to uploading them I want to put up some Daniel Johnston but it's very... controversial, I think only George would like it, I've seen him listening to him before.

You need to get your link in your sig, I'm too lazy.

I like that song. Good choice. Now I want to upload my plethora of gay happy indie stuff
#33
Brilliant! This will help with the embargo, Jackson, with all the new tracks.
