So here's my plan.

I want to make a demo with my band, and we plan on recording guitars using some of the techniques in this thread-
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1131250&highlight=vst

My Stuff.
DAW- Reaper.
VSTs- TSS, Nick Crow's 7170, keFIR + cab impulses.

My question is, will the line 6 studio GX suit me fine for this?

And also- will the line 6's 'tone direct' (latency free- yet still processed signal)
monitoring work with vsts other than pod farm?

I apologize for about the silly and unconventional way in which i seem to start threads!
Thanks, Will.

Yes it will, except you won't be using Nick Crow's 7170.

My chain looks like this:

Guitar --> Pod --> TSS (extra gain)--> Green Gate (to clear the small noise) --> AmpFarm (disable the Cab modeling) --> Voxengo Boogex (better than keFIR and more CPU friendly.)

So, i can't use the interface as an interface alone, ie without pod farm software?

I'm running my setup like this (using Reaper too, all of this happens in Reaper):

Guitar -> Zoom G2.1U -> (ReaGate) -> TSS -> Nick Crowe's 8505* -> Voxengo Boogex

Just replace the Zoom with the Line 6 Studio GX. When you arm the track for recording in Reaper, you can just click the button for monitoring your processed signal. I think you shouldn't get much latency with any decent computer.

*(newer version or something? Or maybe just a different version, I dunno)
