Any tips on getting more melody in my playing?

I can try learing those scales. I don't know any notes like C or something.

Well just try helping out anyway you can.

1) study music (theory...ect) this is where you'll learn how to define things like what a melody is and be able to utilize that information to create your own.

2) listen to, learn/memorize, & play melodies
* even if you don't study theory, you can internalize the concepts this way.

Doing both would likely yield the best results in the long term.

it takes time.
