I was just checking ebay and I stumbled upon this beast of an axe.

The price; only a mere US$2400

I want to be nice and say that's not too bad, but honestly, it really is. It's probably this guy's first build and thinks it's insanely great. The Floyd Rose is probably the most valuable part of the guitar.
#3
wouldnt you erase the pencil lines before pricing it at $2400??

Could be my eyes, but did he even cut a recess for the floyd rose?

the "still in progress" finish is quite stunning.

Its not his first build. He says in the listing its the latest model in his line of customs.
And he says it plays and sounds as good as it looks!

looking in his store he has a finished guitar for sale too... what a joke. i wonder if he's ever sold any of this crap. makes me want to gather up some cardboard boxes, glue them together, put strings on it, and put it on ebay for $2000.

I actually think it LOOKS pretty good with some detail on it. At first I thought he was really bad with a saw or something, but that's apparently intentional... lol. But it looks good once there is some paint and stuff on it. Kinda sucks for the guy there is already a JEM line of guitars.

Eh, no.

I built my first guitar this summer and it looks better than that... Probably plays better, too.

I think he just took a JEM and cut a bit of it off and was like "TA-DA! I hoep Zakk Wylde tayks wun ov deez n meaks eet heez seegnature geetar!"

Wasn't there a youtube video posted in one of these threads with this "masterpiece" in it? I could swear I recall that.

No, I'm pretty sure that was a Devries (Aussie "luthier")

why doesnt he at least make it 24 frets...

I think black doom death metal is just plain stupid. go flame on me but i can't hear nothing but shit on those songs with everything in drop A or below. also it could've been without lyrics as you'd never hear them anyway.

Oh dear god, I think this rivals that in crappiness (except for the hardware).

Would this happen to be made by one of DeVries offspring, or a even a.. *GASP!* protoge?!?!

Says it's in Naples, FL, so i'm guessing they aren't related.

So if anyone on UG lives in Florida i say go pay him a visit.

See if you can order a custom guitar.

Yeah, your right. I found the post and the video was removed off of youtube. This one looks as brutal though.

Atleast it has good upper fret access. Too bad if you are use to sliding your hand up until it stops to get to the 22nd. you'll go about 3 frets worth off the fretboard.

Hell he probably had the girl make it

Appalling at best.

The neck joint is the worst though. I don't want splinters when I go past the 15th fret.

Also, the body of the guitar looks absolutely tiny.
