so a soundtrack music needs an open D tuning, Is there a popular standard D tuning?or do i just pick the 3 notes (I,III,V) for the strings and put it anywhere i want it to be(which is most unlikely)?

Educated guess: low to high: D-A-D-G-A-D

EDIT: I think you could go with D-A-D-F#-A-D as well.

The second one that tickler said, if you want a D major chord. It requires the least retuning from standard to reach it, and it forms a full D chord.
