Generally you tend to have a pre amp, power amp, and then people stack up effects and things from there. I think anyway. If you feel like it find the threads called New Gear Day Take 1-6 Ibanez Psycho has been building a pretty nice rig up that might help more than I can

What do you want to do with the rack? I assume a w/d or w/d/w rig? Do you want to use a normal amp or a pre-power setup? There are so many things you can do. I could help alot more if you gave a bit more detail of what you want to do.

sorry for the noobie question on your thred TS but what is a Rack rig, whats the diffrence between a Preamp and a preamp in side the head and where does it go?, whatdoes it do ?

You can buy whatever guitar you want, you don't have to be at a certain skill level to buy one. This is real life, not some guitar-playing RPG where you have to unlock new guitars.

Yeah, its like cutting a head in half, pretty much. Gives you more options.

Wow don't hijack the thread with noobium. Wasn't there a sticky about this stuff somewhere?

Anyway, you only want to use the rack for effects then? Are you thinking of separating wet and dry signals?

Why don't you like it? I'll concede that the low-gain/in between tones are pretty meh but it has lovely super cleans and a great raw high gain distortion (GOOD for Gothenburg metal).

Yeah im thinkin so, but i might only have a reverb/delay/chours/tuner/ noise gate/compresser in a rack,
then my amp, and an EQ pedal
