This is rather redundant in saying, but let's try and be mature. Personally, I'd take Skierinanutshel's first suggestion and google it, otherwise, you could try looking at concert pics and stuff and try and pick their gear out.

It also depends which guitarists tone you want. They vary slightly. Also what album?
Take this to your Grave and Folie A Deux are VERY different (i can't hear Joe Troman at all on Folie A Deux).

So yeah, more specific please?

alright for real -

put on a song of theirs you like and set all your tone nobs to 12 o'clock. Modulate the mids and highs first from there. it shouldnt be too hard, you just gotta put in the time man.

my guess would be drop d and all mids and highs. all meaning at about 7. bass maybe 5 or so. obviously it depends a lot on amp and guitar, but start with that and move some things around. you'll get close i bet.

3/4 of the replies in this thread are absolutely pathetic. i don't like fall out boy either but i don't make fun of people that do every chance i'm given. if you don't know the answer to the question TS is asking why bother posting ?

anyway...after a google search it looks like they use orange amps, gretsch/gibson/washburn guitars.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

Ironic that most people flaming in this thread probably play with the "most br00tal" "'Tallica" tone that they can wank to.

Patrick I know uses an AC30 and Gretch Jet-o-Matics. Of course, his own model.

On their line 6 spider 3 lol.

Anyways, Id say keep the bass to 5ish, raise up the treble to around 7 and the mids around 6 or 7 to with medium gain.

There isn't really anything that unique to their tone, so assuming you have good gear you can probably mess with the settings and get pretty close.

Ironically I can actually say I like fall out boy better than metallica lol....I've always thought they were sooooooo overated and had the most basic metal sound
But I know what your saying...people tend to be sensitive about metallica around here
