Lately I have fallen into the practice of freezing my fruit lately (in fact, my fingers are horrendously slow typing this from eating a frozen orange and I can't lift my tongue off the floor of my mouth :/ ;( ).

I took pictures of a grapefruit here:

Here's is a list of fruits that are good for freezing:

oranges
grapefruits (both taste incredibbbbly crisply and ice-candy like)
passionfruit (this probably exhibits the biggest change between frozen and non-frozen. Non-frozen it essentially is a goopy slippery mush while although good fails in it's hard-to-eat texture. Frozen however, it becomes quite spoonable and is also very easy to eat cut in half through a spoon like an ice cream ^^).

and fruits which taste horrible non-frozen:

apples and pinapples (both becomes mushy and form-less when bitten into. it's like their structures have been broken apart by the freezing process and hence ended up and mushy and un-appetizing. they almost taste like rotten versions of themselves :puke

and that's about it (:sad but I plan to expand soon, with the help of the Pitpotamuses's shared fruit lists Maybe we can make a grand collective frozen fruit list. I dunno.

can't get blackberries commonly around here but I was planning to do grapes next. (seedless of course). It would make a great munching food

You should make smooothies with them.

Orange banana raspberry vanilla icce cream shakes ftw

I don't have a blender though...but tthat sounds reaaaaaaally good.

also, I heard frozen fruit negates the need for ice (and hence essentially useless water content) so it must be good.

No, sounds like someone who owns a refridgerator and a freezer, instead of a useless hybrid with absolutely no room to store food.

It would be like sorbet!

I can't wait until hot weather so I can try some of these things.

I once had peach sorbet out of a frozen peach at a restaurant, and haven't been the same since!

I did this when I was at uni. Nearly cut my fingers off trying to cut the orange open, but it was tasty.

The apple wasn't very nice. We stuck it in the microwave and it exploded.

Oh well, wasn't my house

ohhh man I was reading through this thread and got a hugge craving for frozen grapes so I went to see if we had any grapes but low and behold the one time I REALLY want grapes we're out.

BUT!

I started looking around for something else to freeze when I came across a peach! It is 3:39AM, when I wake up tomorrow (today?) I imagine I'll have a very satisfying breakfast.

When I moved into the next student accommodation from that one, someone had cunningly put the tiniest bit of tinfoil inside the microwave.
I turned it on to warm up some soup. I nearly had a heart attack
