Does anyone know (in the state of CT) if it's legal to be in a bar if you're underage but the entertainment.
I'm in a band of 21-22 year-olds so they play bar shows occasionally, and i'm only 16 (i'll be 17 in a couple months if that makes any difference) and we're worried i won't be able to get in.
I've heard that as long as you stay away from the actual bar and just do what you're there for, it's legal for you to be in the bar while being underage.
Also, kids are allowed in bars with parents, so maybe if i'm with these guys who are old enough to be there and drink, i'll be allowed in.
well, if you could help me out, that'd be great because they'd hate to give up bar shows because of me.

me n my band do it all the time.

no one says a thing

EDIT: usually they just assume were all 18 n getting served at the bar is never a problem

First of all, don't tell em your age.

Second of all even if it illegal, they will most likely let it slide. At a bar here (Ontario) my buddy was 17 in a band and they were giving him pitchers...

Idk, I'm allowed in bars for shows if I help out with the sound. And my friend works at a bar sometimes till 3am and he's only 15.

That is Canada though. Dunno about CT.

That's true too. I had buddies working at bars picking up empties at 16 or so.

well from what i understand, alcohol laws are significantly less "important" in the UK and in some other countries over there.
Here in the US, everyone's a **** about that.

lol you live in Bristol. Why are spending your time playing in bars when you can be riding Boulderdash?
1. Open My Computer.
2. Open C:
3. Click on WINDOWS.
4. Open the folder "Media."
5. Click on the file "onestop."
6. Listen.

hmmm, that's what the singer said, just don't say much, and don't tell them your age.
and lespaul1216, it'd be a pain in the ass calling bars all over new england before setting up shows just to see if they'd let me in.

In the UK theres a law protecting performers. If youre in a bar performing and you are under 18, you are legally allowed to be in the bar but you (obviously) arent allowed to drink. Id assume its much the same in the US
DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING
and
CAREFUL NOW

No man needs a holiday more than the man who has just had one.

Think about it

The owner of this bar has a load of customers expecting some entertainment. He can either cancel the whole gig because one member isnt 21 or he can just let it go. Unless hes a complete dick hes not gonna do anything. Maybe hell be a little pissed and maybe he wont let you guys play again but im sure hell let you play the gig

My friend done that from 14, but it was in the UK and the bar was known to serve 12 year olds
