Greetings, I want to tag my equipment, like amps, cases, and guitar pedals, incase it is stolen out of my apartment.

Back in the day, when I played in a band, I tagged all of my amps/guitar cases with the band logo.

However I am no longer in a band, should I even bother doing this, or what would be the best way to do this.

thanks

Use a pen with ink that shows up under UV light.
Otherwise this, but note down the serial numbers as well.

For guitars just find their serial numbers and write them down. For amp ugh, well, they're not that precious so write your name somewhere I guess.

Then jizz on it.

jizz flouresces (glows) under UV light, so kinda beats the point

TS, you could, if you don't mind, use an etching pen or a thin penknife to carve in any details on the back of the amp, or the back of the guitar headstock/body

Well if you write the word **** on a guitar it'll lose a lot of value.

But an amp is ONLY for the sound, who cares how an amp looks?

I think one of the best ways is to burn something like initials into the wood maybe on the back of the guitar. At the school I used to go to there was a special heated pen type of thing (like a soldering iron but made specifically for this) that students would use to burn in designs, initials or anything to mark their projects. Not only so they wouldn't get lost/stolen (oddly enough this happened) but for personalization. Anyways something like that would be kinda hard to hide, even with a sticker you would still see where it isn't catching in the shape of whatever was under it.
