I need a new head + cab instead of the Orange Dual Terror + Orange PPC212 2x12 tube cab (which I wanted to buy)

Why? Because perhaps I could afford a good halfstack for a lower price.

The Orange halfstack is about 1100 euro's. And I have about 800 now.
Any suggestions?

I live in Holland, play experimental, progressive, metal, rock.
Bands like: The Fall Of Troy, Rage Against The Machine, Jimi Hendrix etc.

Thank you.

I'm not a big fan of Marshall.

Well considering its a english voiced amp like the orange, and out of those 3 artists you named 2 use marshall, its surely hinting at something? lol

Plus they are great value now.

Orange rockerverb 30/50 head maybe?

That's even more expensive than the Dual Terror, lol.

What's wrong with the 'single' Terror? That might be within your budget.
A metal band?
Gear:
A Guitar with an LFR > Korg Pitchblack > Behringer EQ > Hardwire CM-2 Overdrive Boss SD-1 > Hardwire CR-7 Chorus>
Orange Tiny Terror >
LzR Engineering 212 cab

My other amp can run Crysis

go used if you want value for your money

for example theres a marshall vintage modern 2266 on the swedish used market for 650 euro while it cost 1300 new
Inspired by Ibanez RGA321F Prestige, Gibson Les Paul Standard
Powered by CAA OD100 standard+ , Mesa 2x12

Why do you need 2 Channels?

Because it's more?

Plus, I'm not sure if the Tiny Terror can handle gigs etc.

How large are the gigs? 15 watts tube are louder than most people expect.

Plus, at most gigs you will mic up anyway. I gig with my Night Train and its just 15 watts.

Because its extremely overpriced and doesnt sound good?

TS, try fooling around with the DSL a bit, maybe youll enjoy it (as said earlier, two of the three bands you mentioned use Marshalls). Also, look at the used market, youll be able to get much more bang for your buck
Board:
Pitchblack - Fulltone Octafuzz - Hardwire OD - Blakemore Effects Deus Ex Machina - MXR Micro Chorus - Diamond Memory Lane Jr - EHX SMMH - Neunaber Wet

lol, half stacks look cool and all of this but as soon as you start gigging and have to carry the thing around with you, you will soon learn to like the combos again. I'll buy a combo over a stack anyday because of the weight of them and practicality of them

So what combo of my price range would you recommend?

I don't mind buying a combo instead of a half stack at all.

What about the Laney GS412IA 4x12 cab and Hiwatt Hi Gain 50 head?
I found it at the used markt.

Maybe you can get a used Marshall JCM800 2205 halfstack. It's the 2 channel JCM800 with 50W.
Fender American Special HSS Stratocaster
Ibanez 1987 Roadstar II Deluxe
Yamaha THR10X
Marshall JCM900 SL-X
Ibanez WD-7 Weeping Demon Wah
TC Electronic Polytune
Seymour Duncan Tweakfuzz

I agree with the JCM800 suggestion. A boosted JCM800 should nail those sounds.
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.
