jesus christ, i was just reading the guide to chord formation in the lessons tab, and man, that is the LONGEST lesson i have ever seen, how much of this would be necessary? i mean i wanna learn as much theory as possible but it just looks like too much :S

^^^ The theory lesson in Sue's signature is much more in-depth and will probably be better for you in the long run, as you'll understand the mechanics of chords (and theory altogether) in a better way. I don't see any glaring flaws in the other link, but it's not as good imo.

it's every other note to start off. It's not that complicated.

1,3,5

extend it to your liking

1,3,5,7
1,3,5,b7
1,3,5,9
1,3,5,13....and so on and so forth

All minor chords= b3 or -3
1,-3,5
1-3,5,-7

sus chord = ommit the 3rd with options of adding 2 or 4

1,2,5
1,4,5

diminish = -5

1,3,-5

augment = raise the 5th 1/2

1,3,-6
