This weekend I bought a Ibanez rg from a local pawn shop total cost was $130, But I did not buy it to play, I bought it for target practice, I wanted to try out my new AR-15 boy was that fun, I straight blew the heck out of that guitar and it felt good, first shot right into the neck PU, 2nd just a bit high off the bridge PU, 3rd direct hit into the bridge PU, 4th took off the headstock, 5th took out its lame FR wannabe bridge, and my final 2 shots were with my 12 gauge to finish the deal, Its now a pile of toothpicks out in the wilderness where it belongs lol, way too fun hehe, Next week think Im going to buy another and see how it holds up :

Trust me it was a POS, wasnt worth it for some kid to buy and play it. maybe I should have been more clear I was specifically looking for a POS guitar to blow the crap out of.

Then you should have went for the $30 strat knock-offs.

if you have money to waste, buy cheap guitars and give them to poor kids who dream of having a guitar but can't afford it

you can do whatever you want with your money, but if you're gonna talk about it in a forum, expect the kind of answer I am giving you

That money could've easily been given to charity. I could've given something that was a lot more fun to shoot. Old car or truck? Shooting a drum with gasoline in it? Shooting a guitar is probably the lamest thing to shoot.

Edit: You should've gotten the AR-10 or FN Scar.
#18
people, it was a piece of schmit guitar that probably would've gotten minimal to no use.

you guys are just mad that someone has money and can have fun. honestly, how many of you would buy a $130 guitar and just give it away? this guys had fun with it, probably the same amount of fun a beginner would have had with it.

Im not spoiled rich kid, Im in my 30's, I could have bought a cheapo knock off but I hate Ibanez guitars with a passion, My name isnt based around the person (even though he was a major influence to me playing in the late 80's early 90's during the powermetal era) but my V guitar I love that thing.

He had as much fun as a beginner would? When I was a beginner, I barely ever put my guitar down. This guy had about 10-20 mins of fun from this, and completely wasted $130. He could've put the money to use, and bought something much cheaper and more satisfying to shoot. He already has some good guitar gear, but he could have bought an effects pedal or something, or put it towards another guitar.
Above post may or may not be true.

Piece of *schmit* guitar or not, it was still a guitar. No one cares if you have money to wipe your ass with don't brag about destroying something that may have some sentimental value to other people, because like me, it'll just piss them off.

Yes it was a guitar that shouldn't have been for sale in the first place, I wouldnt even give it to my kids to play. the fret wires were coming out, rust everywhere, the neck was tweeked, Was a garbage guitar, In fact I feel I helped someone from wasting their money on a hardly playable guitar.

Why do you care at all??? If you worked for the $130, then gave him the guitar, and then he shot it up, then you could be pissed off. But for him to spend his money that he earned on something, then destroy it just for the heck off it, doesn't affect you at all, except you want to be all pissy because, "someone else" could have used that guitar.... "Someone else" could get a job, work for four days, and then quit because they would alreasdy have enough cash to buy that guitar....

You're right, he does have every right to spend his hard earned cash on whatever he wants. It's just hard to see someone destroy something that people put hard work into making, and to see something that can bring fulfillment to others. I'm very passionate about guitars and really appreciate the effort that goes into each and every one, which is why I got quite defensive. However, if the guitar was truly unplayable and in the condition that he described it, then perhaps you did it (or possibly someone else) a favor.

Those are fun also, Yah I get bored with cans, bottles, teddybears. It was pretty interesting, it held up pretty well Hence why I had to break out the shotgun. I wish I had before and after pics then you would understand how bad of shape the guitar was in, When I saw it in the shop last week it peeved me that they were selling that POS then I bought my AR and got an Idea is all. I should have kept the pieces and took it back to the shop today and tell them I think im having tuning problems with the guitar lol. $130 isnt that much I burn more than that on a monthly bases. like that song up in smoke, Up in smoke thats where alll my money gossssssssss.

Can we atleast see the "after" pics? Until then I'm still a little skeptical...

I would but I would have to drive 40 miles then hike another 2-3 to take pictures. But the next one I will though.

Well, think about it. Someone else did the exact same thing. Except he used a dimebag, not a guitar. And that was a pretty damned good idea/result!

So you hate Ibanez guitars with the passion, but still blow 'em? That must've been hard considering the neck is pretty long and you have to get past the headstock

JOking...joking..

Sounds fun. Nobody should get butthurt, dude made that money and did what he wanted. And shooting is damn fun (Not to mention a huge stress reliever). Especially you're ignorant neighbors..again joking.

Wish I could shoot an AR. That would be fun as all hell. I wouldn't shoot an Ibanez. More like a cheapass strat knockoff or that acoustic guitar in my garage...

yh maby but ppl madethat guitar. if u sold suming u made and the person called it a peice of **** and shot it how would u feel?

A large corporation made that guitar. I swear to you they're not too upset. In fact, they're probably happy now that there is a bit less supply, which equates to more demand.

i don't know for you guys, but i find it sick to destroy a guitar like that for no reason, it's got kind of a symbolic meaning..
i would never break a guitar, too much love for them

Loving guitars in general doesn't mean you should never break them. Hell, if I had enough money to spare, I'd do that.

So how'd the AR shoot? What kind did you get, they're all pretty scarce around here since the election.
