After a cab ride home from the post office (the parcel was larger than I thought) I got home.

Wonder what's inside?

Maybe this will give you a clue?

So what is it?

A Blackheart BH5H Little Giant!

Basically my 18watter is great, but now we practise at a place where we can't leave our amps. I wanted a small 5 watter. It was either this or a Class 5, but after seeing that the Class 5 was twice as much as this, I went with the Blackheart, which I have always loved. I plugged it into my G12H speaker in the 18watter and turned it up. With a pair of P90s, halfway up I had a lovely tone, full of that raunchy tube overdrive, but still so dynamic I could get a clean sound by just playing softer. With a Strat it was also lovely, delivering wonderful bluesy breakup, up to rock crunch. The EQ is also a great little feature on it! Overall I've always liked these, will see how it works when I bring it to practise on saturday.

wait... you can't leave your amps there, and you don't want to bring your 18 watter back and forth... but you're using the speaker from it as a cab for your BH

whatever , HNAD!

HNAD man!!

How does it sound?

Very British tone. A lot fatter than my 18watter really. Really cool, classic British tube tone.

I haven't tried out any Blackhearts myself but I've heard that they have that classic British crunch a la old Marshalls.

You gonna make any clips?

Hey Gabel can you post a Whole Lotta Love riffing as clips?
That would be pretty cool to be able to compare the sounds with a click

on the new amp

PS i might get one of these, how much do they weigh and how big are they?

Well keep in mind I'll probably have to line it when it comes to clips... So it will be a cab emulation.

Dimensions: 243 x 381 x 228mm. Weight: 9.5kg.

I think Blackheart are like the unsung heroes of UG. They sound amazing and aren't too expensive, but few people recommend them... Plus I've yet to hear a bad Blackheart!

Also, I just want to make sure, but if I was using the head with my Weber attenuator and set it too full attenuation (to use the line-out) I could play it withouy a cab connected? Just want to make sure...

Wow. No clue. Bump.

Someone like Kevin Saale or Roc8995 might know. Ask in the WTLTL if they don't see this or just PM them.
