Hi guys, long time since i pissed most of u lot off

ive been leaning towards the flextone by line 6, BUT i jus saw the new line 6 spider IV
and have some questions

Are they actually an improvement on the spider 3's?
In terms of tone, can they compete with the flextone?
Overall, whats more versatile?
What will handle metal better?
What will handle pedals better?

thanks in advance

I've heard bad things about the Spider 4s. From youtube vids, I would say that the flextone is a much better amp.

In case you haven't realized yet Spiders aren't very popular in this forum. Neither are Marshall MG's.

when are these spider threads gonna stop? The only spider worth looking at is the Spider Valve (i have never tried the spider valve but im assuming its better than the SS ones, especially after reading the thread i just read) but seriously, flextone is much better, and there are better amps for the price IMO

I'd personally go with a Spider Valve over a Flextone, and the SV is really cheap right now. I've never tried the Spider IV, but the Flextone I tried was a great amp, especially for the price. I think that the Spider Valve has the best blues tones of any Line 6 amp, including the Vetta.

Go with a Flextone. The Spider series are practice amps. Just practice. The flextone is a usable amp! Its easily better.
