hey, in an effort to discover new music, i decided to start this thread.
Just name the 3 most underground/least popular (but good) artists in your library and their style of music. Name more if you want

Piglet (math rock)
Ali Akbar Khan (world)
From Monument to Masses (post rock/indie)

I do not have any underground artists in my library. There are enough above ground artists to keep me satisfied. I like a few local bands, but don't actually own their stuff

EDIT: ^ha, I don't have a band

Well I listen to From Monument to Masses so you may be interested in my post. Well my 3 favorites?

Hmm...

Noah and The Whale (fantastic indie/folk rock type stuff)
Mystery Jets (indie rock)
Moving Units (indie rock)

By the way pretty much all I listen to is indie rock and some alternative and stuff like that. So if you like those I have a lot more so maybe PM me.

Most underground artists...

Raman Sachdev
Duchess Says
Panda Bear
Neutral Milk Hotel
The Holy Modal Rounders
The Angelic Process
Bikeride
Damone
Naked City

As far as I know, none of those bands are particularly well known. Where I live, anyway.

Sorry it's a bit more than three...

Which reminds me, I must add Naked City to my list.

Not sure how underground exactly:

Riding Alone For Thousands of Miles (post-rock, GY!BE-esque)
Machinist (mathgrind lol)
Hella (weird math rock)
Lights out Asia (ambient/electronic/post-rock)

Check out Eyes Like Brontide, by Lights Out Asia. The whole thing sounds amazing; there are vocals, and they sound incredible, and vocals are almost non-existant in post-rock.
It's like post-rock mixed with Boards of Canada.
