i have been thinking about selling my xxx and getting a new head. im not sure what i could get with the money i gain.
ive been thinkin a maybe a 6505, but everyone wants extravagant amounts on my cl.
and i have been known to hate rectos, but the old two channel ones have been sounding pretty good.

what do you guys think?

Eh I see Carvin V3s scratch-n-dent from the factory on ebay for $750.

Metal would be what they're suited for. Good for Recto haters, as well. V3 gets a lot of players coming off of Recto crashes.

i liked it.
i played the Dual once and i liked the Lead channel of it, the looseness was OK for me since i play alot of ADTR at that time.
it can go a bit fizzy sometimes but still usable.

I found the Dual recto real fizzy. They sound pretty weak at low volumes as well. I do like a few bands tone who use them though. I would like a chance to experiment with one with an OD and see how well it cleans up.

^ I would go for that, heck even triple X+300 would not be a bad deal at all. Triple X go for around 500-650 usd, 2 channel Rectos go for well over 900 dollars usually, 900-1200, you are getting a good deal IMO. Plus if you don't like the recto you could always sell it and get your money back, you would not loose anything thats for sure.

No worries if you don't like it I will trade you my Triple X for it, I will even pay the shipping both ways, just because I'm a nice guy, jk. Any way I don't think you will have any thing to loose, you should be able to make a couple hundred dollars if you end up selling it. What is revision g?

You probably seen this but here it is anyway, http://www.theboogiearchives.com/2ch_dual_recto.html they don't really say what it is other than the last of the 2 channel Rectos,
EDIT: proabaly the final version where Mesa got all the bugs and quirks worked out in the mainfacturing process.

Mark IV's are skyrocketing in price; I'm seeing easily half of them, maybe three quarters going for at least $1500 and the III's are staying constant around $1000

from the boogie archieves
Despite being the last revision, Revision G still has a great sound. This is the sound that defined many of the recordings of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. It has an even looser feel than Revision F and plenty of bass. Revision G’s do not carry the famous transformers. However, this doesn’t mean they suck! It has the classic Rectifier growl, but lacks the aggressive feel of C and D. It has decent cleans.

Keep the XXX imo. If you wanna mix it up, put EL34s in it if you haven't already.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Just pointing out that it's not as easy as "tossing in some EL34's."
