what is your opinion of the best build up in a song before diving into an amazing riff

example: the two note intro to Can't Stop then the awesome main riff
Dire Straits: Money For Nothing drum build up before the main riff
MIM Tele
Fender Blues Jr NOS
Schecter Omen 6
Squier Strat
Greg Bennett Acoustic
other crap...

Frequency Ass Bandit by Botch. Even though the whole song is awesome riffs, there's that one build up before the really awesome one.
My style is impetuous.
My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious.
I want your heart.

Cochise by audioslave is pretty sick IMO, but it was only the first song to come to mind, so there is probs a better one.

We Flood Empty Lakes - Yndi Halda.

The last two minutes.

Also, various songs by GY!BE, Fault and Fracture by Converge, Variations on a Cocktail Dress by The Dillinger Escape Plan.

I'm glad someone mentioned Converge. DEP is sick, too.

But the intro has a total of 4 notes if you include the bend.

The whole Stairway to Heaven solo. It builds up perfectly to Plant screaming over the sexy palm-mute riff.
Chinese Democracy is a great album, people need to get over Slash.

Proud fan of Pop, Rap, Rock, and Metal.

The intro to Funeralopolis by Electric Wizard

there is no worthy challenger to it

Pretty much all post-rock.

Seriously, building up to amazing riffs is the point of it.

Vela, Together We Await The Storm by The Human Abstract. The piano building up to the riff is epic.

On the album it's actually an entire 4 min acoustic guitar/piano ballad entitled Desiderata that leads up to the song Vela, together we await the storm. It makes it at least 15x more epic look it up

These nouns are often used with a form of "to be" rather than "to have," e.g., "he is pwnage" rather than "he has pwnage". Either is a more emphatic way of expressing the simpler "he pwns,"
