Hello people,

I have recently started practicing major arpeggios like this:

e|--------------5--8--5--------------|
B|-----------6-----------6-----------|
G|--------5-----------------5--------|
D|-----7-----------------------7-----|
A|--8-----------------------------8--|
E|-----------------------------------|
The problem is that my pinky hurts just after 2 minutes of exercises, even at slow speed. I do use it regularly for riffs and solos, so I don't understand why it hurts only with arpeggios. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks.

Your hand's too tense and rigid. Try loosening it up.

You're probably pressing too hard with your little finger. You need to make sure each finger only JUST touches the string with enough force to make it sound, and no more.

This will be the major reason. You're not used to it, so you're overcompensating.

Try slowing down.
