just got my wrist checked out and i've fecked up the tendons in my left hand! going to have to try and lay off motorbiking, guitar and drum playing for a few weeks , which is pretty much all my hobbies! blah....

anyone else got it? or more importantly, thought i'd ask here, being a guitar website and such..... you guys know any good streches for the wrist so that once its fixed i don't go and overdo it again?

Deal with it and take care of it. You'll be good to go in just a little while.

I've got a compressed ulnar nerve in my left arm... As a result the bottom of my hand and little finger are somewhat numb (and have been for the last 6 weeks or so)

My hand injury is superior >_>

That said, I can still type, play guitar, etc without any problems... I just can't feel it

They aren't on strike round here, just completely fucking incompetent.

A parcel arrived for me on Tuesday, I wasn't in. I arranged redelivery for yesterday and it didn't turn up. I rang the office this morning to see what had happened and they said it had been put on the van yesterday so should've been delivered...

I daresay the clown driving the van took it to the wrong address.

But I digress....

I've gotta have electric currents down my arm to find where the problem is and then probably an operation... Should be fun.

My ahnds are both pretty f*cked up. I work on a computer all day so rest isn't really an option. I've been told I'd need at least 4 weeks off to recover but that's just not possible.

Haha, it's my left hand that's knackered and I'm not ambidextrous

It's only my third and little finger and bottom part of my hand anyway, so it would be half and half really

Dude that sucks. I would send Troy Stetina a message on Myspace if you want to know where to find more info about streches and stuff like that, he is a cool dude and is a fantastic player.
What did your wrist in? was it too much fast playing or practising?

That really sucks. I'm pretty damn close to getting tendinitis in my left hand, so I've been really careful about my guitar playing. I probably should ask my doctor about it.

I fuc*ed up my arms real bad (look on my profile)

^ Oh shi-

I've got a compressed nerve... Can still use my hand fine though, just can't feel a lot.

The motor is fine, just the sensor is knackered

cheers guys, and it wasn't actually playing that did it i don't think.... i'm a postman so i'm sorting loads of letters in the morning, then i cycle a bike delivering them for 4 hours (weigh on wrists all that time), then i usually ride my motorbike round london for a few hours (my left hand pulls the clutch in), and then i play some guitar/drums and type a **** load....

so its just a combination of all that i think.... i've spent today realising just how important my left wrist is! my advise, the minute you feel something not right, wait for it to feel right before you carry on... i reckon this 'll take a month to heal properly

I've had it before it became mainstream. It's been... Damn, almost 3 years now. If I rest long enough it will turn on and off periodically, but I'm still trying to get rid of it permanently.

No, unless you don't treat it right long enough. I've heard some guys have it forever, and some move on just fine. I've been horribly depressed at that thought for a while, but I learned this guy did everything he was supposed to do, and eventually he could play every day, just not 10 hours a day. He switched to 8's on his guitars, got a stress ball thing, did heat and ice regularly. I'm going back to the doctor soon to see if I was diagnosed wrong; my knuckles actually hurt more than my wrist sometimes.
