I have a zoom G2.1u which is a pedal and a audio interface at the same time.

I tried mic'ing the amps but didn't sound any good.

My only solution is using the G2 to record directly to the computer, and record several guitar layers until I get a decent sound. Is it a good idea ?
the best way to answer that is to try it. it may not sound good to my ears but your ears could love it, in which case the answer is yes, it is a good idea.
if it makes you feel any better about it, all of my electric recording is done straight into my comp and processed from there. that is, of course, until i get a good enough amp. but it's working plenty well enough for me now.
