Hi!

Im trying to get some speed in a sertain common guitar pattern. it looks like this.

G:-------14-----12------------------
D:-------------------------14--------
And repeat

From the 14th fret i pick then pull off to 12 then pick 14 and so on.
but it feels really weird getting smoothly from 14 above to 14 under.

any tips?

Practice, get better at playing it slowly.

Try not rolling you ring finger, if you are. Use your pinky on the G string, and ring finger on the D string.

Picking pattern: upstroke, pull-off, downstroke, repeat. Also try alternate picking it. Down, up, down, up, down up, repeat. This really helps when you need it for 3 string arpeggios, for example.

Yep I'd agree with the previous comment - all these things come with practice, as does every technique

Well i know i have to practice this hard. but i want to practice it hard with a proper technique.=)
so if i use a rolling technique with the ring finger(Like on the justin guitar clip) it feels a bit weird pulling off.
is this a good way of playing this? to roll down and then pull off? am i on the right track here?
oh! and i have been using rolling technique before but not pulling off after like this.

of course i will practice it by alting everything to=)
but i want that smooth pull off sound in the end

In this case rolling isn't your best option.
