because it has an emg 81 which is an active pickup and active pickups require a power supply to work properly

It has a passive pickup (EMG HZ F-H2) but there's an active boost switch.

I was just gonna say...it's not an active PU..its the HZ

wrong.

if he has an alexi 600 that requires a battery, then it has an sd blackout, active pickup.(assuming his guitar is stock)

no alexi 600's come stock with a boost switch.

esp has alternated between configurations in recent years. some have the hz, completely passive. some, including mine, have the blackout.

It's the 2009 models that have the EMG HZ F-H2 p.u..

last i heard this is what ESP are doing now, but have been toying with the idea of Alexi's Sig set.

Sadly i doubt they will though as they like to make significant differences between ESP and LTD models if they can

ESP would tell you there is a difference between the models but i dont see any point in it unless your a die hard fan. Ive played 3 Alexi 60s with all the different configs of pups and i must say theres not a huge difference in the sound and most people wouldnt even notice unless expressly looking for it

I'm alright then I don't really pay attention to how it sounds as long as it plays unless I'm doing settings on the pedal then I listen carefully.
