Alright Pit, I need some advice.

I'm trying to decide between two MXR overdrives, the GT and the Zakk Wylde Signature, and I can't make up my mind.

I'm playing an ESP with EMG's through a Mesa Boogie Mark IV, and I'm looking to add a little more bottom end and thicken up the tone a little more (plus give it a little more heat!).

I've tried the Wylde pedal, and I thought it was pretty good, but I havent played with the GT-OD, so I'm mostly looking for a comparison between the two. I'd also take any suggestions for other pedals

Thanks!

the wylde overdrive sounds good IMO, but it breaks down easily (or so i've heard)

I've had my ZW-44 for almost 5 years now, and it's still going strong.

There's your answer. Try it out. Only you can decide what sounds better.

In my world, the color RED doesn't exist.

The system has encountered a fatal error [1809]: 'YourOpinion' var has no set value.

Don't just settle on mxr...they have cool stuff but there's tons of crap out there...

I've been using a dod yjm308 that I modded to the specs of the 400 plus dollar dod 250 grey pedal...it sounds like crap stock but after changing like 4 components its the best overdrive I've ever played...and I only payed 30 bucks for it!!
Fender 70s Ri Strats w/various Dimarzios
Modded 1982 Marshall JCM800 2203

Boss DS-1,Dunlop Crybaby,MXR Phase 90,Ibanez AD9,Boss CH-1

Check out randy dobsons underground ,tell me what you think

I dont mind the mid scoop, I play mostly metal anyways. I can't say I've heard bad things about either pedal.

I own a few other pedals, digitech, boss, and a dunlop. I just thought I'd try something new, and I'd heard good things about MXR, so I thought I'd give them a chance.

Thanks for all your advice Pit! I think I'm going to go with the Zakk Wylde signature!

the ZW44 is a great booster for an already driven amp, but it's still a pretty good overdrive for bluesy stuff.

this statement is funny on two levels

1) this isnt the pit,

2) you actually think people would give you good advice in the pit
