sup dudes, put some new d'addario 9's on the dean on tuesday, have been playing for a few hours today and my 1st-3rd strings are now pink between the 15th and 5th frets, i've never noticed this before, is it normal? surely they can't be rusting already?

Different brands of strings respond differently to the chemistry of your sweat or whatever you happen to have on your hands while you're playing. If it's been abnormally humid around where you are, that can effect string life drastically.

I've definitely had strings start going bad after a week during humid weather, especially if I'm not diligent about washing my hands every time I play.
