Tell us what amp you have..are you trying to put a distortion on a clean tone or on a moderatly distorted tone...

A lot of metal guys prefer using an overdrive pedal on top of a semi distorted tone already....its a lot different and more ballsy in my opinion than a stand alone distortion

without metallica there wouldn't be as many thrash metal bands. So think before you say something stupid like the bold above

I apologize if I offended anyone....I just like to be sarcastic sometimes...I just never liked metallica but I do understand their importance in music history bro

Im pretty sure the TSL can get a Metallica tone by itself...

I havent heard the other band before though

Edit: This guy seems to get a pretty good Metallica tone going on. Work on your EQ/gain settings
Board:
Pitchblack - Fulltone Octafuzz - Hardwire OD - Blakemore Effects Deus Ex Machina - MXR Micro Chorus - Diamond Memory Lane Jr - EHX SMMH - Neunaber Wet

wow...........I must have sounded really rude. Sorry when I wrote that I was probably in a bad or depressed mood.
I like Metallica but I usually don't get like that.
