well, im selling my washburn for like $1500 because im tired of trems and i just want to have a quality guitar i can tune up and down whenever.

i went to long an mcquade today, played a bunch of guitars around $1500 and i came out wanting a 20 anniversary silhouette that came with a dimebag duncan in the bridge.

i really loved it because it looked amazing, it was decently light, no trem, and the neck was perfect.

any thoughts? other suggestions? i thought id walk out wanting a les paul studio, or a robot ( which is $1200 here now! ) but this wowed me... go for it?

If you liked the sound of the guitar you don't have to change it just because a couple of strangers on the internet said to. I've heard good things about that guitar, if you like it and think its better than other guitars you've played in the price range, then go for it.

Well, you could try bringing your guitar to the store and comparing both of them through the same amp. It isn't as ideal as trying them through your own amp but it can give you an idea of what the differences are.

Orrrr i could buy another $1500 guitar that feels just as good and comes with exactly what i want? Who wants to pay $1500 for a guitar and then have to pay another $100 to get the pickup you want? It just doesn't make sense.

And TS i would recommend some kind of Dimarzio, maybe a D-Sonic or D-Activator.

Ouch, that can't be a good business move. I guess it's your choice then. If you do want to change the PU you should be able to find your choice of pup on Ebay for pretty cheap, and switching them out is just a bit of soldering skill.

Although I don't like the Dimebucker, EBMM guitars have the most amazing necks.

Orrrr if he really likes this guitar but ends up not liking the pickup he can change it to exactly what he wants? It makes perfect sense. It makes no sense to completely pass on a good guitar just because you don't like one feature that is so easy to change. It's just like passing on the guitar because you don't like the tuners. It's like passing on the car you want because you don't like the rims. It's almost like passing on a guitar because the strings aren't good or because you don't like the knobs. If you like the rest of it enough it's not such a big issue to change one little flaw and make it perfect.
