I'm looking to expand my vast library of music right now.

lately I've been hearing of a lot of side projects that band members or ex band members have started (though I guess if they are ex than its really not a side project.)

anyway, for example, some bands that I have discovered recently are

Unsun started by ex Vader guitarist Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz

and

Dirge Within formed by ex Soilwork guitarist Shaun Glass

anyone know of any other bands like this. Thanks for the help....
VERY METAL!

Roadrunner United was a record collectively put together by heavy metal bands on Roadrunner Records. It was ok.

Dimension Zero is a side project of Jesper Stromblad from In Flames.

John Frusciante's last solo album from January was one hell of a trip.

I'll see if I can remember any more.

Was Kyuss a collaboration?

Alter Bridge is basically Creed with a new singer, but they're actually good, unlike Creed.

That's funny because it's so true. But I actually kinda-sorta-maybe-possibly like Creed. >.>

this is true, but Alter Bridge is not a side project. AB was formed when creed broke up in 04 (actually, AB's formation started in late 03, but creed was all but publicly done then, anyway. officially formed in the first days of 04).

Not really, most of the members who have been in Kyuss have been in queens of the stone age though, and have worked on other projects after Kyuss.

EDIT: Kyuss came before most, if not all of the bands each member has been in.
WHOMP

Think of that next time you are not allowed to laugh.

Despite being more well-known than the original band, The Sound of Animals Fighting is a side project of RX Bandits.
