The title's pretty self-explanatory. But for those who need clarification, I'm refering to bands whose longer songs in your mind are generally better and you look forward to seeing them pop up on your your ipod when you set it on shuffle when you're on your way to swim lesson. Go!

I rarely listen to music on shuffle. If I want to listen to a certain song, I'll listen to it.
#21
Apparently I'm the only one here who regularly sets his ipod to shuffle.

I usually don't like long songs. 8 minutes is more than enough. 3-4 is otherwise quite perfect imo although a good song is a good song whether it's 25 minutes or 38 seconds.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

Opeth

Black Rose Immortal, Master's Apprentices, and Blackwater Park ftw.

Is this an Opeth song? Because it's a band aswell.

Dream Theater. The lengthy ones are so diverse within themselves it's like listening to 3 different songs, but all wrapped up in one.

John Butler Trio
Come back if you want to
And remember who you are
‘Cause there's nothing here for you my dear
And everything must pass

I love long jazz songs, Like Bitches Brew by Miles Davis.

and on the other end of the spectrum, Sleep is awesome. I like Dragonaut, Holy Mountain, and Jerusalem, which is one song on an album divided into six parts that is like an hour and a half. dopesmoker is an hour and 3 minutes long.
#36
i actually prefer longer songs to shorter ones

coheed and cambria
dream theatre
opeth
porcupine tree

whatever if i like a band its likely i like most if not all of their songs
#37
Queens of the Stone Age

Better Living Through Chemistry as my main example

My favourite song ever is Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (PartsI-V)
So there you go.

This isn't bloody 4chan, there's no need to do that.

Also, it's not one song, per se, just musically linked. The lyrics in each song also have different subject matter.
The will be heartache,
there will be rain,
and joy I can't explain.
