yeah its an output and an input that have bypassed the preamp.

Basically it would be

instrument > preamp > effect out> *effects* > effect in > power amp > speaker.

Having your effects directly after your intrument, means that the effected signal is passed through the pre and power amp.

Thanks. So could I use the effect in as another input if I wanted to plug in an extra mic or music? Even though I wouldn't be able to adjust the sound
