Hey guys,

Is it okay to use a XL .42 A-string as a normal E string?

my E string is .42 (i use 9's) so i dont see why something would be wrong.

if you are using your A string as an E while you wait to buy aother stirng, then it's alright. But if you plan on being liek that forever, I would sugest to adjust intonation and if the rest of your strings are pretty heavy (a .42 A string = heavy) you should adjust the truss rod a bit for any neck bowment.

also, if you have an FR or floating trem, it could f*ck up. the same as above, it wont matter if it's just while you can get a good string, but you should adjust the springs if you're keeping it.
