I have been lookin to buy for awhile now and i just cant quite pull the trigger.

-1500 is my max
-I play Grunge, punk, alternative
-no need for a tremolo system
-good heavy distortion guitar but not metal what so ever.

These are pretty loose outlines but im drawin a major blank.

Pretty much anything with humbuckers would work well. But I'm an Ibanez man so I'll recommend an SV5470 or a FR1620

Fat strat, Les Paul of somesort. Providing you have a decent amp, and yours would be?

Most anything out there fits your needs honestly. Perfer a certain wood or something?
Life is like an Empty Box, there could be something exciting in it at first look, but upon further review, well, it's empty.

Hmm.... with 1500 you can get something from the major manufacturers premium product lines. You say "not metal" what so ever, but you have to realize that a guitar geared towards metal would give you a "heavy distortion" type thing you are looking for. Look into a Gibson SG- they are about 1500, just watch the quality.
