I'm half way through my project and have run into trouble wiring up the new pickups.

I have a S,S,H configuration on my pacifica.

The humbucker is a Dimarzio tone zone.

I've replaced the tone control, with one with a DPSP pull/push to activate the coil Split on my humbucker.

I emailed Dimarzio and got this diagram. One problem is my tone control and DPSP are together as one. So there is 3 lugs missing on mine, which are on this diagram.
Also my 5 way selector has all 8 lugs in one row.

Here's how I've wired mine up, and it's not working very well.

The blue line is the bare wire from the dimarzio.

The grey line is the white wire from the dimarzio.

Help! Where have i gone wrong?

You're just confusing him, Minty.

*diagram with standard 5-way*
He already had that in his first image. Wrong kind of switch.

Yeah, he could do the work of translating the colours, but the diagram you gave still wouldn't help him, as he has an import switch.

Thank you for the diagram, but my Push/Pull switch is on my tone pot. Does that make it any different?
the switch and the pot are electrically separate. won't matter if the push-pull is on the volume or the tone.

You have just one tone control, not two?

Do you want it to work in all positions of the selector (master tone)?

I have one tone control, and i want the tone pot to be the master tone.

Just want the DPSP switch to split the humbucker in half to turn it into a single coil.

Edit: I've been looking up how my 5 way works. I think im start to grasp where I'm going wrong.

Your problem is on the "tone" side of the 5-way, yeah?
You could wire your tone control directly to the volume control.
Don't need that side of the switch at all.
If you revise your drawing, I'll proofread it.

I'll quickly just see if my corrections make a difference. If it fails again, I'll post a better more coherant drawing. Curse my mac for not having MS paint!

and yeah you're totally right, about the "tone side" of the 5 way being wrong.
I also managed to wire my capacitor on the tone control to the wrong lug etc.

Thanks for the help though.

Sorry, guys. I wasn't trying to confuse anyone. I just wanted to help as much as I could without going fully into it, because I've got **** going on at the moment.
Yeah, we know your heart is in the right place.
