I'm going into my second year of university and I'm looking for a better way to organize my notes as I was not happy with my methods last year.

Last year I would pretty much just type up notes during class and abandon the powerpoints the prof provided, because I was basically too lazy to figure out how to use onenote.

So this year I decided to try and use one note, but I have 64bit windows and you can't even upload powerpoints into onenote if you have 64bit vista because the printer drivers are incompatible to publish them to onenote or something. There has been a fix created to remedy this but it always crashes so I've been forced to look for something else.

Is there some sort of freeware with which you can integrate powerpoint presentations or am I fucked?

I tried evernote but it doesn't seem you can import powerpoint presentations into it.

Why can't you just use Powerpoint? Am I behind the times with my ignorance of OneNote?

it's too hard to annotate the slides, if you use the note section at the bottom you can't print it along with the slide unless you print one slide per page, and if I did that I would have thousands of sheets by midterm.
