Hey all, I just registered and I thought I'd jump right in. I have an entire body of work, but I'll just throw out something to test the waters. This is one of my very first.

out your window you see greenery and trees
outside mine i see concrete
and endless angles of ninety degrees
are we so different on opposite shores
of this bridge made of matchsticks
perhaps it makes no difference
broken hearts eventually get their fix

your view of greenery and trees
will eventually give way to concrete
and our paths will only cross
at right angles of ninety degrees

there is a river of fire between us
rushing like a torrent to the sea
that bridge will surely burn
to pristine fields youll never return
I watch the buildings rise
gods green fields cut down to size
i see it again as i gaze into your eyes
clear and blue as the azure sky
just promise me you'll never lose
your false sense of surprise

your view of greenery and trees
will eventually give way to concrete
and our paths will only cross
at right angles of ninety degrees

i could taste your lips
on the cup at our communion
but our short lived union
was dissolved
by the endless sprawl
as the buildings rose
to completion
gods green fields
cut down to size
as our paths only crossed
at right angles of ninety degrees

your view of greenery and trees
will eventually give way to concrete
and our paths will only cross
at right angles of ninety degrees
and our paths will only cross
at right angles of ninety degrees
