Wondering if theres any certain gear that I should use for the Death Metal/Thrash sound
#2
if u want that slayer sound get either a JCM800 and use a mxr 10 band EQ or get the Kerry King Sig Marshall head the jcm with the 10 band is what he sut to use b4 he got the signature head and only uses that now

Slayer = JCM800 + TS + EQ w/ boosted mids + EMGs
Death = Valvestate 8100 + Dimarzio 2XN in bridge
#4
Just get the Kerry King JCM800. That should do most of the sound you want.
Fender American Special HSS Stratocaster
Ibanez 1987 Roadstar II Deluxe
Yamaha THR10X
Marshall JCM900 SL-X
Ibanez WD-7 Weeping Demon Wah
TC Electronic Polytune
Seymour Duncan Tweakfuzz

Ok cool, do you think i could mix and match if i felt like it? Ill just stick with the goal of getting that kerry king jcm for now though
#6
Well, yeah, but if you want to play anything different than heavy distorted metal, don't get the KK JCM.

yea id agree with the other guy if u wanna do anything other than metal dont get the KK marshall but if thats all u want to do then the KK is what u want for that slayer tone it would be cheaper that getting the jcm800 that kk used and like getting the eq and the ts plus its what he actualy uses now i think he may even boost it with the ts but im not sure

My Ampeg gets those tones with ease.

you better check under the sea,
because that's where you'll find me..."

For any old death metal, I'd definitely go with the Ampeg VH140c.

^ I love your setup...except the ME-50. Why?
