Im learning master of puppets and seak & destroy, should i alternate pick?

Depends what you prefer really but it sounds tighter and heavier if you downpick + metallica downpick both of them (but kirk obviously dosn't downpick the solos lol)

In the terms of rhythm guitar Hetfield downpicks every thing unless its impossible

Not on Master of Puppets. Not sure about S&D but I downpick. Alternate picking is easier but downpicking gives a more aggressive sound. So you decide.

I play Master Of Puppets all downpicks and my mate who's a guitarist (and better than me) is constantly amazed by it. Anyways, go down. It's always good.

downpicking helps a lot, but master of puppets has a lot of downpicking in it
