I have the old 160gb iPod that was released in 2007 and I heard that Apple just re-released the 160gb model. Does anyone know if the new firmware (I believe it's 2.0.1) will work with the old 160gb iPod classic? Also, besides Genius feature and the physical size, what are the differences between the new and old model? Thanks!

I think iTunes will bring up a firmware update if you have it connected, I'm not sure.

I think 16 gigs should be the max. It's not like anyone seriously listens to every song on a 160 gig ipod, let alone 60.

Don't worry, I got it.

Anyway, I asked for a 8 gig iPod a year or two ago, my parents bought me a 160 gig. I don't know what I'm going to do with that much space, but I know I won't be buying a new one anytime soon. I only have 3 filled.

Just because you don't need/want over 16 gigs doesn't mean other people don't. Leave those of us who require larger iPods alone, it's not hurting you.

Haha how would one hit wonders and remixes fill 160 gigs?
Dont get angry bro. Why would you put music on an ipod that you dont intend to listen to anyway?
Some people like to listen to a bunch of songs by a bunch of bands. Simple as that.
I like a band, so i get their albums.

Albums plays a big part of it, I only get the songs from the album I like instead of the entire album, that = so much less space =_=.

I'm not angry, all I'm saying is I have two friends who have like 32 or 60 Gig iPods that are filled with **** music, remixes, one hit wonders, and other stupid **** that they don't even listen to.

There's a special sex move I do called the Charizard.

if you have 160 gigs of music, you arent into listening to music. youre into showing off your collection.

not that anyone is impressed by the hundred gigs you torrented, but you try anyway.

The most songs I've had on my computer at once was about 2,000 I think. I didn't even really listen to all of them either. And my tastes are constantly changing. As is my music collection. So, I just have a small mp3 player and I shuffle songs onto it via WMP.
