Request: Megadeth - "This Day We Fight!" (Or help me with the tab included)

#1
Hi All,

This is my first post so I'm a flaming newbie. The new Megadeth album kicks ass and so I've decided to try and figure out the second track This Day We Fight!

Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum rules by asking for help with this...

It seems that just about all the riffs are tremelo picked, or are mostly tremelo picked.

I've transcribed this in standard tuning which means it's probably going to need to be transcribed since the song sounds like either the low E or all strings are tuned down. Maybe someone has an idea about the tuning so I can adjust this.

With that said I"m trying to get the tab somewhat in the ball park right now. This song is so fast it sounds like a swarm of bees in your head. Trying to figure out the exact notes being played is very difficult. It'll help once we see Dave playing this stuff live.

Your input would be much appreciated.

Here it is:

This Day We Fight! - Megadeth
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Chris Rizzo & ??? (Whoever want's to help get an ACCURATE tab in
the end)

Email: chrisrizzo@hotmail.com

Tuning: Don't Know. I'm pretty sure at least the low E is tuned down a 1/2 step.

Special Notes:

Riff 1

I'm not going to lie. I'm sure I'm pretty far off on this section. It's real
hard to hear what's happening with this riff because it's low and fast and
the notes are flying by. This is a rough approximation but maybe a good starting
point for someone else's input. Fast trem picking required.

Riff 3:

I'm not sure this is exactly right but it sounds pretty good to my ears.
This requires very fast tremelo picking.

chris broadrick is an avid 7 string user. now hes recorded with megadeth, its entirely possible that hes been using his low B in some tracks.

there's more chance of dave going 7 string than chris going 6.

ahh.. yeh... because they hadnt recorded anything with a 7 string. now they have gone through the studio with a 7 string, its entirely possible some stuff was RECORDED lower than E.

dave might continue to use his 6 string and chris play lower notes, or they might just play in E and chris gets to solo with an extended range. i dont know nor care, just note that it could be lower.

Good point about the 7 string. I hadn't even considered that. I'm hoping some live bootlegs show up on YouTube if Megadeth includes this in their live set.
